A Time for Thanksgiving – Because Time Matters

mattDecember 31, 2014 will mark the fifth year since the day I was first told ,“You have lung cancer.” It was a diagnosis I never expected with a prognosis that was equally shocking. Because there is no early detection test for lung cancer, most cases are not diagnosed until the later stages when it’s harder to treat. Only 17% of people diagnosed with lung cancer will survive five years; it’s the deadliest cancer killer. I consider myself blessed to have survived five years. Some days were tough, and some days I wouldn’t trade in a million years. But through it all, I’ve learned that each and every day is a great day to be alive. …
